How about dressing up as a ravenous she-bear with some baby arms hanging out of the mouth. Too on the nose?

Strip off the old personality
by eyeuse2badub inyesterday’s watchtower talked about how by becoming a jw it enabled “worldly” people to ‘strip off the old personality’ and make really significantly good changes in their life.. paragraph named 4 individuals (anonymous names of course and probably embellished tales)) sakura, ribeiro, stephen, and hans.
their lives changed for the good because they found god or because they became jw’s---right?.
so on the way home from this wt meeting, my wife commented to me how wonderful our brotherhood is and how it helps people who would otherwise be ‘lost’ n this world.

I remember being in awe would people would say there they were praying, and the next day a JW came to their door. I mean.....wow! First person evidence of angels in action!
Of course then i realized that same platitude has been experienced by literally every single religion on the planet. So maybe God is just screwing with us, or sends the nearest available person from any religion just so you don't do something crazy and become a muslim? Lol.

The Trinity Easily Explained in 29 Words

It really seems to be that they start with the conclusion, and craft an understanding to then bring them there.....and THEN work on fitting scriptures that can be understood several different ways.....into the equation.
The trinity is nonsense. The idea of God having a son, who he eventually requires be murdered in order to fulfill his warped sense of "balance" is also nonsense. Its really something i believe human beings will study a millennium from now with awe, the same way we study Greek mythology today. As in......its kind of fun to know about....and it makes for the occasional blockbuster......but nobody thinks Zeus is coming to put a lightning bolt up your ass if you don't want him to sleep with your mom.

Yeah I think it was brought out, but that is Modalism. It strikes me that very often Trinitarians have no clue how to explain this belief.
Its ridiculous of course, that God would leave his very nature such a mystery, but decide to explain it as "father and son" which we can easily relate to. Well......father and son are separate individuals, not copies of one another, and can act independently. So if thats the illustration God himself chose to use......seems pretty easy to get.
Discussing the Trinity with a JW (or really anyone) is of course a complete waste of time anyways.

THIS Is How JWs Feel About The Cut In Magazines And Content
by pale.emperor ini asked the question on quora "how do jehovah's witnesses feel about the announcement that the public edition of the watchtower and awake!
magazine is being reduced to just 3 issues a year and the number of books, tracts, and online content are being discontinued?".

JW's are masters.....and I mean MASTERS of having it both way. Cofty mentioned already the preening about regarding the massive distribution of the WT. More than even People magazine and Satans other rags no doubt!
But now all of that gets sliced, and hey its a great arrangement because now we won't be wasting our time.
So.........were you wasting your time before?
Sheesh.

How Many Witnesses Would Really Take Blood?
by minimus inup until the very end, my mother refused blood.
it didn't matter if it was a blurred line or not, the bible says "no blood"!
i wonder if she was in the minority, in her thinking.

Well done Shirley.
Steve,
Check this out. I actually know of a person who took blood, without their knowledge or consent, at the consent of their husband (a pioneer and well respected MS). This was not in the US, and it was the type of secret they took to their grave. But the woman who received the transfusion never knew what her husband did for her. She had 2 more children after that one (it was related to child birth). One of them was my wifes mother.
Crazy!

Its a reflex to refuse blood. When however faced with the real consequences, I think JW family will more often reason "if I allow it, then I am the one that is responsible.....not _____ since she was unconscious."
In a situation regarding my family, a doctor told us to remember that they are a teaching hospital, and they WILL respect our wishes. Which means if we won't allow blood, then they won't even bring it in the room. But what the doctor said after that was what stuck with me.
"We have found more often than not in these situations that the family or even the person at risk will change their mind, leaving us scrambling for supplies we did not bring close in order to respect religious objections. So I want you to know......we will keep your medical situation completely private."
THAT....made an impact. I would put it in the column for a lot of JW's take blood.

This doctrine is close to my heart for many reasons, not the least of which is that it was the catalyst to me being able to think for myself. I spent a lot of time defending this doctrine. Even went to far as to argue that the "good health to you" closing of the apostolic decree was a sort of prescription from Luke! That Jehovah knew this would be "better" for us, and tipped his hat a bit to us with that phrase.
But after pouring in and out of various components, and understanding the policy I was met with 2 things that i could not shake.
1) If someone according to JW policy was to refuse something, and later that was changed (like organs), who was responsible for the blood of that person? Was the blood guilt communal?
2) Who was deciding what was approved and what was not, but more importantly, what was the CRITERIA they were using to make this decision on behalf of 8 Million JW's? ( nobody could answer the "criteria" part of this question)
I have been able to use these same 2 points to undo most arguments for blood. And yes TD is right......most of the time i just hear "I couldn't care less about the blood doctrine.......its like the resurrection doesn't even matter to you." Most JW's can't be bothered with the import of this, and in the end....Jehovah will resurrect you to pet lions, never die, and wear nursing scrubs over your smooth parts?
I had a weeks long conversation with a CO friend over this. Very thoughtful, and studious man whom I respect. In the end his arguments were that the FDS is chosen, so you have to listen to that direction, and that since growth has continued to occur.....Jehovah is still blessing the work! At that point, we respectfully bowed out of the conversation. I have not heard from him since.

When they asked me to serve i was pretty shocked. But then when they announced me, it was in the same breath as they removed a long time MS who was absolutely beloved by all.
So I was like....ah......The needed one well liked guy to take the place of the other well liked guy.
Still the most bizarre appointment announcement i have ever been present for......my own.
